The Pentagon Frame

Within the first year of my new knotting art career, I became friends with Skipp Hipps, a renowned maker of sinnet frames. He graciously invited me to collaborate with him on a major commission he had been awarded. The project was to depict the Flag of the Chief of Naval Operations in knots. The flag was also to be displayed in a knotted frame. This frame currently hangs behind the desk of the CNO at the Pentagon and is the property of the Naval History and Heritage Command.

Skip and I were honored to be invited for a “thank you” visit by the CNO about a year after it was delivered
